The food was delicious. Beer was cold. Paloma was tasty. Shout out to Daniel for great service. 10 out of 10 will go again.
First time here but will be back. Food and drinks were amazing. Service was speedy. The borracho beans were actually spicy. Not many places have anything that actually has a kick to it.
Trudy’s is back! We have been eating at various locations for 30 years but took a break when quality was down. But today’s 2022 visit was amazing. Awesome salsa. We could switch out sauce like the old days. Everyone was friendly. The new strawberry cucumber margarita is a must drink. Hooray! A little old Austin still remains!
More emphasis on Tex than Mex, which makes them unique. I always have enchiladas my 1st time trying a new Tex-Mex restaurant, and they didn't disappoint. The top-shelf margaritas are worth it. The service was prompt, competent, and friendly at the bar. The decor reflects the food. I will definitely be back.
Trudy's South Star is a great experience. Divers menu and many drink options. The outdoor space is great if it's not too hot!
Great staff great prices and delicious food in a really easy to get to area. I would suggest getting the Mexican martini well worth it.
This is the best place for some good Tex Mex!! It’s one of my go-to places In Austin. And can we just talk about the Mexican Street corn on the cob ???? …
Friendly service. Nice vibe with beautiful wooden tables. The chipotle brisket enchiladas were fabulous! The margarita was the cherry on the perfect meal.
The atmosphere and decor is perfect for this great Tex-Mex restaurant. Prices are good for all the food you received. I got the two Spicy Beef Tacos, which were perfectly seasoned. Not too spicy. The servers were delightful and professional. I look forward to going again next time I am in Austin.
The food here is horrible. It's like the cooks are all high or asleep. How do you mess up chicken fajitas? Good news is that they have alcohol. Good prices on booze. Even better news is that their waitresses are absolutely gorgeous and friendly. My food sucked but my waitress was so gorgeous that I tipped her very well anyway. Love Austin. If it's not one thing it's another.
